Leighton just called and indicated that one side of Liesl's body appears to be looser and more relaxed than the other.

She is still posturing on one side - but the other side has shown a small sign of progress tonight. We have been cautioned not to get too excited, because this is indeed a small change. But of course, it is good news:

The nurse says that one time today when he pinched Liesl to check her reactions, her response was different. In the past when they tested her reactions, she "postured" (turned her arms outward and/or clenched her fists). In this case today, when they tested her one side, she exhibited a slight movement of her arm towards the point of pain. This is what she is supposed to do. This is good.

The other news of the evening is that she may have picked up a slight staph infection. They are treating it, and watching carefully, of course.

The medication for ICP (pressure on the brain) is being used a bit more tonight not because her ICP is high but because they want to keep her calm and relaxed.

My name is Colleen Kiphart, and I'm a DG who graduated from SLU in '07. I have wonderful memories of getting to know Liesl during my time at SLU. She is a dynamic, vibrant, and kind woman. Please know that my prayers and those of my family will be joining the thousands of others.
Thank you for your updates. My prayers, thoughts, and support are with your family as well.

My name is Pat Pavetto and I have know Liesl since she was a second grader at Holy Rosary. She was and is a sweetheart. She used to come in during recess and help clean the artroom for the next class. We became great friends. She has a special place in my heart and when I heard the news of her accident my heart was broken. She is in our prayers. We are praying for a miracle and we do believe. Love the Pavetto family

I know you don't know me, but I have a small sotry to tell. My name is Karen, I am a friend of a friend. Jennelle (also a DG), my friend is friends with Liesl. Confusing I know. Anyways, Jennelle asked me to pray for Liesl. I put her on my prayer chain at church. Then, last night, I was cleaning the church and a whole different group came into the church (this is at about 9pm) saying they felt like there was someone they needed to pray for. I had them pray for Liesl. 9 people stood and prayed for her, asking God to show mercy. I know you are going through a difficult time and I just wanted you to know that we are praying and God is listening.

Thank you for keeping us all informed. I have been praying since Duncan told me of the accident. Will continue to pray and wait for the miracle. Much love, Noopy and family.

Ever since Lynne Marie's email announcing the blog I have been praying for Liesl's healing and that of the family and her many, many friends as well as Oscar and his loved ones. There are good souls here in Las Vegas and also some in Colorado in prayer.

Thank you for the truly amazing updates you continue to provide. They are thoroughly informative (this takes me almost to her bedside), but more importantly, these postings are filled with love and constancy. I will pray and pray some more, with love, from my heart.
